RO7: Radiopharmaceutical Procedures Online Course

CEUs: AAPC - 1.5, AHIMA - 3, ARRT 2

This online course prepares coders working in the physician practice, non-hospital treatment center, or hospital outpatient setting to assign procedure codes for therapeutic nuclear medicine services. The course discusses procedure techniques, coding guidelines, documentation requirements, modifier use, and bundling issues. It includes exercises and real-life case studies for hands-on learning. At the completion of the course, a scored assessment tests the learner’s comprehension of the material.  This course will take most users about 3 hours to complete.  Topics include but are not limited to:

• Therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals
• Radiopharmaceutical dosages
• Oral radioactive iodine therapy
• Strontium and samarium therapy for bone tumors
• Intracavitary radiopharmaceutical therapy
• Interstitial radiopharmaceutical therapy
• Y-90 microsphere therapy
• Radioimmunotherapy for non-Hodgkin lymphoma
